Christmas Gifts

My sister, who is an incredibly valued person in my life has gone through an insane roller coaster of a year.

So…. I really wanted to create something special for her and her husband.

After brainstorming back and forth with her husband I chose to create a large oil painting for them from their travels to Scotland.

I used several photos to create the composition and reference detail of these castle ruins on cliffs by the sea.

They both have a love for very dark and moody scenes like I do, so I leaned into this feel, dialing down the sea and the sky to add drama.
