ART SHOW

Live Painting at Ava Laurenne

When Natalie from Ava Laurenne tossed out the idea of me live painting at their charity Art Show I jumped at the opportunity to be able to give in my small way to help support the artists who were hit so badly in Asheville during Hurricane Helene. If you aren’t familiar, most of the River Arts District was disastrously flooded. Some of the artists who had galleries in the area lost every piece of original art they had. As an artist myself this is mind-blowing and very hard to wrap my head around. There was of course much more tragic events in the Asheville area, but it is still so heartbreaking to think of loosing nearly every bit of your livelihood.

So, when Natalie suggested I paint something of the Asheville area that was near and dear to my heart and then donate the painting to their Auction for the River Arts District I was very happy to be a part!

I painted one of my favorite spots just up the parkway from Asheville, Black Balsam Knob. The painting was inspired by a misty morning I was there on a cold winter day. I’m such a sucker for a moody gloomy day!
